The Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs was formed through the merger of the Department of Comptroller and the Department of Support Services—as stipulated in Decree Law No. 124 on the Administrative Organization of Higher Education Supervisory Bodies and Higher Education Institutions—and began operations upon the University acquiring legal entity status on January 1, 1993.
